Jordan Brooks is a Principal at Optima Global Trading, where he specializes in emerging markets macro strategies. In his role, he leads research and portfolio management initiatives across sovereign debt, currencies, and multi-asset strategies, with a particular focus on Latin America and Asia. Jordan has developed a reputation for integrating macroeconomic research with quantitative models to identify opportunities in complex and fast-changing markets.

Since joining Optima Global in 2016, he has been instrumental in building the firm’s emerging markets platform, contributing to strong performance in global macro and risk parity products. Jordan also co-chairs the Emerging Markets Research Committee, coordinating investment insights across trading, research, and risk management teams.

Prior to Optima Global, Jordan worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund, where he focused on capital flows and monetary policy in frontier markets. Earlier in his career, he was an analyst in the global emerging markets group at J.P. Morgan.

His research on sovereign risk and cross-border capital dynamics has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals. He is also a frequent speaker at international conferences on the challenges and opportunities in emerging markets investing.

Jordan holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Boston College.
